So, I thought it was just about time to make an update from Oasis Stables, Inc. I have a reclaiming announcement to make and just random things that have been going on here at Oasis that we would like to share with everyone!
First Order of Business: Reclaiming
I am (or already have) reclaiming the following horses from the following people. Some of these were horses that I sold under a pretty strict contract (well, for me they were) and these contracts have been 'breached'. As thus, in the best interest of these animals in mind, I will be reclaiming them and bringing them back to 'active' status within HF. Some might be offered to new homes, some might not. If you personally see a horse that highly interests you, don't hesitate to send me an offer and we can work from there.
-Anduril OS+/
-GS Golden Thunder+
-Maharani OS
-Silmarien OS
-LL Auronna Dream (already reclaimed and with our broodmare herd until foal weaning in 2009)
Second Order of Business: Tavern Stud Herd Dispersal Sale
Okay, a good majority of the Tavern Herd have found new (and amazing) homes. But, we still have a solid bunch left looking for new homes. Once all my horses are up to date and up on the Oasis board, I will begin showing those that are left for sale (hopefully none by then) and the small few I will be retaining. Most of the warmbloods/ponies I am retaining are horses I plan to use to breed to my Arabians so they won't be heavily shown. I opted to retain most of my broodmares and a small group of sport ponies and show mares, most of which will be retired to brood.
Soo, please take a look at our herd dispersal sales thread (I and II) in the Sales Forum!!! These are high quality show and breeding horses that will excel with active and dedicated owners! I might be adding a couple of more pending a couple of PMs. So, be on the lookout for that!
As for those of you that have already taken up one (or more) of the Tavern herd to add to your own herd, I want to give you a HUGE thank you for giving these horses a home where I know they will continue to do great things with you. I will miss these horses dearly, but am more than happy that they will get a chance to shine once again
Aside from the dispersal, we are expecting one Thoroughbred foal for 2009. Along with the rest of our foal crop, this foal is being carried in RL time and will not be speedaged. Here it is:
2009 foal due 4/25/09
Sire: Undeniable
Dam: Diamondsanddust
We claimed a breeding to Kate's top stallion before he was exported. We think with Diamondsanddust (dam of Diamondsandcoal), he should produce a very good racing prospect. We are excited to see what comes out of this.
Third Order of Business: Oasis Racing Group
So I will admit, my racing string of both Arabians and Thoroughbreds have been pretty sporadic. Due to my lack of memory on most days, I have missed quite a handful of racemeets and I feel terrible as these babies LOVE to race. But, I am happy to see that the times that they do get out there, they do pretty well! So, maybe its a blessing in disguise that they aren't out there on a monthly basis. Here is a little 'update' on both the Arabian and Thoroughbred string.
Arabians
I would say my Arabian race string has definitely suffered a bit more than my Thoroughbreds. I have a pretty solid group of racers with talent to spare, but again, I tend to forget to enter them. My Arabs have been topsy-turvey. In one racemeet, they will be do wonderful. The next, not so great. 2009 will see the addition of a big group of three year olds enter the Maiden division and the retirement of some of our older racers. Here is a list of who's going out, and who's going in:
RETIRING: these horses will be retiring from racing; they will be re-introduced to the AHA show string and continue their show careers in the AHA show circuit.
-Werdenful OS: 2003 mare
-Belfalas OS: 2004 mare
-Estancia OS: 2004 mare
-Klassyka OS: 2004 mare
-LL Eurastos: 2004 stallion
-Doriath CH: 2004 stallion (still undecided if he will continue racing or not)
-Taxman DS: 2004 stallion
DEBUTING: These horses will make their racing debuts in 2009. They will be focused solely on racing and so will be 'retired' from the AHA show string until they finish their racing careers.
-Altariel OS: 2006 mare
-Finduilas OS: 2006 mare
-Orophin OS: 2006 stallion
-Ambroz BF: 2006 stallion
-Mindolluin OS: 2006 stallion
-Midna OS: 2006 mare
-Azja OS: 2006 mare
-Auror OS: 2006 stallion
-Eskape OS: 2006 stallion
-Arbitrator OS: 2006 stallion
-WA Samantha: 2006 mare
-Precisionist OS: 2006 stallion
-Cavalcade FA: 2006 mare
-WA Keepsake: 2006 mare
-Kahlua OS: 2006 stallion
Thoroughbreds
Just like our Arabians, our Thoroughbreds haven't been out as much as I would have liked. My top three year olds were not able to compete for the Triple Crown/Triple Tiara and that really upset me. But, what is one to do! I am glad to see that the few times they did go out, the did famazing! Especially in the September meet. At the end of this year, we will be retiring some of our top racers and solely focus on the remaining racers. The fillies we are retiring will be bred to HF-based stallions for 2010 foals. But, before that happens, we have a couple of horses who have already qualified for the 2008 Breeder's Cup and we are more than thrilled! With fresh spirits and body, we hope these qualified racers give their all as it will be their last race for some. Here are our qualifiers!!!!
-Diamondsandcoal: Breeders Cup Turf Sprint
This gorgeous Dynaformer colt has been really consistent on the turf. We know he is only going to get better with age so we are expecting great things from him in 2009. We entered him in the Turf Sprint division in hopes of qualifying him in that as he lacks the experience at longer distances and really enjoys the sprints. We hope to try him at longer distances in 2009 and see how he fares.
-Fit for Royalty: Breeders Cup Turf Sprint
Our royal lady, we entered this girl in a turf race to see how she handled it. When trained on the turf, she was explosive (in a good way) so we knew we might have found our turf filly. She will continue racing on the turf in 2009. She will also be extended to longer distances with more experience as with Diamondsandcoal.
-Always Awesome: Breeders Cup Sprint
This mare has been pretty awesome, as her name implies, in the Sprint division. Ever since she began racing as a sprint horse, she has been a top mare. This race will mark her final race. We hope she gives an amazing performance to end her career with a bang!
-Popsicle: Breeders Cup Mile
What can we say of this mare. Having big shoes to fill, Popsicle is just now getting into her own, comfortable in her own skin. We have always known that when she decided to bring out her top talent, she would be a force to reckon with. Although we are VERY tempted to retire her, she will continue racing in 2009 as she is just now starting to find her stride so to speak.
-Flagship: Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic
Oh my dream filly (well, she's more a mare than a filly now lol) has been quite a roller coaster this year. Seeming to have lost her previous competitive shine, Flagship has been quite lackluster this whole year. Striving in very competitive and tasking schedule, I haven't been able to offer that to her this year and her performance has suffered. But, she delivered in a big way in the September meet winning in demanding (and only in a way that this girl can do) fashion the Lady's Secret (G1), this girl is off to another Breeders Cup. This will also be Flagship's final career start and we hope she shows everyone that she still has what helped her be crowned Eclipse Champion Two Year Old in 2006.
-Kiss N' Tell: Breeders Cup Ladies Classic
This filly was our first homebred and she has been quite exemplary. She has had a great year and deservedly earned a spot in the Breeders Cup Ladies Classic. She is quite consistent so we hope she does really well in her first Breeders Cup. She will continue racing in 2009.
-Seeking the Interest
Although not qualified, I did want to mention this beautiful filly who has always given her heart in each and every race and always seemed to have come up short. With just one career WIN in a G3 race, we have decided to retire this well bred mare and breed her for a 2010 foal. She will race again in October and basing on how well she does, she might race once or twice more.
Fourth Order of Business: Encantada Arabians
So, I decided to leave our flagship program last as it will probably be the longest section of this major update (lol). First off, I want to give a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to all the horses who have won Champ, Reserve, or Top Ten at Canadian and Sport Horse Nationals. Winning a National Championship, Reserve, or Top Ten is quite an accomplishment as we all know that the AHA show circuit is ultra competitive. On that, I want to give positive vibes and wish everyone GOOD LUCK at Nationals and Salon du Cheval, the two major events left for 2008. Wow, saying that makes me see that 2008 is almost over! This year literally flew by me! Lol. The Encantada herd, thanks to my lack of memory once again, missed Sport Horse Nationals and I was quite upset as we haven't missed it since we first joined HF. But, we did really well at Canadian Nationals and we hope for stellar performances at Nationals and Salon!!
As most of you know by now, we have quite the foal crop coming in in 2009. I decided to go all out and breed all of the broodmares along with quite a handful of show mares. I felt really thinned out with my very small 2008 foal crop, so I wanted to do the COMPLETE opposite for 2009. The mares have been carrying the foals for a RL 11 month gestation and will be foaling at varying times between February and May in 2009. So, we will be announcing all the foals that arrive on the first day of the following month. Meaning, all the February foals will be announced on March 1st. With that, if you see a foal, or a cross, that really sparks your interest and is a foal you MUST have at your farm, do not hesitate to contact me. Most of the foals are available to interested parties. I mean, I bred each mare with the hope of breeding a champion and will retain any of the ones no one asks for. I will also be keeping a couple that I KNOW I will want to keep for different reasons. But, you can always try. These foals will not be speedaged by me. Of course, if you end up buying one and want to speedage it, I will give the years it can be speedaged to. So, here is a list once again for anyone who wants to give it another look

Now, we are quite excited for 2009 as you can tell! We recently adopted a dashing young stallion that came out of the Windblown breeding program that we shall be introducing in due time along with some of our other young stallions. I will be making a post on the freshman sires that will be available to a very limited book of mares in late 2008/early 2009 along with the remainder of our stallions that have been available to outside mares before. So, we are very excited to introduce these young stallions as studs to the HF public.
Finally, with Allison's Arabian Herd Dispersal, we took in some very good horses. Here is the public welcome to these three mares to Encantada:

Nasra T
2002 Bay Arabian Mare

Final Order of Business: Oasis Stables, Inc. Board
I have been a bit lazy and procrastinating finishing the farm's board. I have a couple of horses to add and that list is only increasing, lol. The goal is to have all of the current horses up on the board by December. I sure hope I can make it :-P
