It's been a long time since our last little update so here it goes!
Encantada Arabians
Well, we had a super succesful Prestige Auction in March/April where we had some of our highest quality stock auctioned off. Most found new homes and of those that did, we had some record breaking prices reached during the auction.
We have also obtained quite a number of Arabians/Half Arabians as many members decide to cut back a bit. We would like to welcome:
-WA Valencia
-WA Tamara
-DT Steps Afire
-Royal Disco Night
-SS Matylda
-Cavalcade FA
-MB Ibn Sehnab (extended lease)
-Imperial Storm
-Nightingale OS (traded with Lenae who now owns our broodmare, Belizaeuropa)
We are currently leasing the spectacular stallion, MB Ibn Sehnab. Our main interest being in breeding, Sehnab has already been bred to some of our top mares/broodmares which brings us to our next point. Sehnab already sired the top stud prospect Arbitrator OS (out of Alessandras). Our second OS-bred Sehnab foal arrived late last week. Here it is!!!
unnamed
Sire: MB Ibn Sehnab
Dam: SR Dancing Spirit
2007 Bay Arabian Colt
Still unnamed, this is the first purebred foal out of Dancing Spirit and we couldn't be more happy with him. Showing that exotic and refinement we loved from Sehnab, this colt still retained his dam's sturdiness and hardiness. This boy quickly got the nickname, "Show Off". He absolutely loves to show his lovely trot to anyone who bothers to look his way and he lives for the show. Many of us have no choice but to stop and stare at him, he is that good! He loves to hear the approving sound of clapping, which just encourages it more. He whinnies to all the other horses who quickly respond. He may be young, but he already stole many hearts and admirers. He also shows no fear, coming up to people and showing curiosity for everything (something that his dam isn't very fond of). He is going to be a crowd favorite from the moment he enters the ring.
We have some more mares due soon and we can't wait!
Tavern Stud
Like promised, we have paid much more attention and dedication to our non-Arabians than we did in 2006. We have expanded quite a bit and have just added a spectacular group of horses to our lineup. Our horses have been out there competing their hearts out and we want to congratulate all of them for such a fine job. Here are our new additions:
-Charlemagne (Trakehner)
-Lysander T (Selle Francais)
-Favory II Candita II (Lipizzan)
-HOF Konfetti (Trakehner)
-Anton Diedert (Friesian)
-Carilda M (Hol/Branden)
-Engledown Nighttime (Sport Pony)
-Paprika M (Thoroughbred)
-Engledown Nerissa (Sport Pony: Lease)
-Tryntje (Friesian)
-DT African Violet (Anglo-Arabian)
-Inas Ids (Friesian/Arabian)
We are very excited with this lineup and can't wait to have them thoroughly included in our group. Great things are expected and will come from our new horses along with our old horses. We wish them luck!
Oasis Racing Group
Well the Group has seen a big surge of additions from our homebreds. Now that we have a good number of 3 year old Arabians racing, the Group's number has multiplied. We also kept busy with some high quality 2 year old Thoroughbreds, one which just recently won her maiden (our beautiful homebred, Kiss N' Tell). Our three year olds have also been busy with their own races and competition.
Our star, Flagship is still wreaking havoc of her fellow competitors. This year she added to her spectacular record a memorable win over the colts in the UAE Derby in Dubai. This spectacular filly just keeps wowing us. When we think she has finally reached her peak, she leaves everyone with their mouth open by throwing in an extra gear!! We hope that she ends the year on a high note. Due to her superb record, we are highly debating whether to continue racing her as a four year old or retire her to our broodmare herd. We will leave it up to her to decide though.
Thanks for your time!
